Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

We design and build our website to be usable by as many people as possible — regardless of vision, hearing, mobility, or cognition. We aim to meet or exceed the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at the AA level.

What we've done

• Semantic HTML so screen readers can navigate the site predictably
• Color contrast that meets WCAG AA on body text and interactive elements
• Visible focus rings for keyboard navigation throughout
• Descriptive alternative text on photos and meaningful images
• Honoring the prefers-reduced-motion setting for animations

In our buildings

Both Senior Life Centers are wheelchair accessible. We provide large-print materials on request, assistive listening accommodations in support groups when needed, and reserved parking for visitors with mobility needs. Please let us know ahead of your visit if you have specific accommodation needs and we'll prepare in advance.

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some content may not be fully accessible — particularly third-party tools we embed (such as our class calendar and registration platform). We are actively working with our vendors to improve these experiences.

If you encounter an accessibility barrier on our website or in our programs, we want to know. Please email info@nassaucountycoa.org or call 904-261-0701 with a description of the issue and the page or program where you encountered it. We'll respond within five business days.

Accommodation requests

To request a specific accommodation for a class, event, or service, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance when possible. We will work with you to make accommodations that allow you to participate fully.
