Our Story

Fifty years of showing up for Nassau County.

Founded in 1974, Nassau County Council on Aging is a locally rooted 501(c)(3) nonprofit built to serve neighbors 60 and older — and the families who love them.

From a single office to two full-service Senior Life Centers in Fernandina Beach and Hilliard, we've grown alongside our community. What hasn't changed is our conviction: aging is better together, and no senior in Nassau County should navigate it alone.

Today, our programs reach every corner of the county — from chef-prepared meals and Meals on Wheels to case management, adult day healthcare, in-home care, and classes that keep body, mind, and spirit engaged.

What We Do

A continuum of care designed around real life.

Our programs meet seniors where they are — at home, at our Life Centers, and everywhere in between.

Nutrition Services

Chef-prepared congregate meals, Meals on Wheels home delivery, a community food pantry, and one-on-one nutrition counseling.

Adult Day HealthCare

Supervised daytime care with meaningful activity and clinical oversight for loved ones who need a little extra support.

Advocate Home Healthcare

Licensed in-home healthcare delivered by NCCOA’s own clinical team — wherever home is.

Case Management

Respite, in-home care, home repairs, legal aid, and benefits counseling — everything needed to age in place.

CHORE Services

Wheelchair ramps, grab bars, minor home repairs, and yard work that keep seniors safe and independent at home.

Classes & Activities

Arts & crafts, fitness classes, support groups, and a lending library — available to adults of ALL ages.

Educational Platforms

Senior Life Magazine, workshops, and community events that inform, connect, and celebrate our members.

Volunteer & Outreach

550+ volunteers powering Meals on Wheels, Santas for Seniors, ramp builds, and everyday acts of neighboring.

Our Impact

A community-wide effort, measured in people served.

Every meal, class, and home visit is made possible by staff, volunteers, partners, and donors who believe aging should come with dignity and joy.
